Spring Redbuds in Texas

Spring speaks to us in ways that we can see but cannot hear.

My daughter and I lost ourselves in the woods for a couple of hours. Walk with us......

The Woods

Taken March 2008 by my husband

What does he plant who plants a tree?
He plants cool shade and tender rain,
And seed and bud of days to be,
And years that fade and flush again;
He plants the glory of the plain;
He plants the forest's heritage;
The harvest of a coming age;
The joy that unborn eyes shall see-
These things he plants who plants a tree.

Texas Cardinals in February

I love these shots of the cardinals that reside on our place in North East Texas. Both were taken by my handsome husband of eighteen years. What a stunning couple they are! I just found out that cardinals mate for life. Amazing!

Old Fence Post

This is the only part of our fence line that hasn't been redone, and I think it has a charm of its own. Brings back memories of the home place and my grandparents.

Texas Sunsets in February

These two shots were taken on the same February evening from the front porch.

Rich blue sky as the sun dips below the tree line.
